SP&D's team brings over 20 years of diverse experience in planning, mapping, and environmental services. Our small size allows us to be flexible while maintaining accuracy and dedication. We are pleased to introduce you to our team.

Virginia Smith, Principal, AICP

Michele King, CFM
(She/Her)

Mrs. Smith, Project Manager, has worked with state and local governments on hazard mitigation and land use planning for the past 20 years. Mrs. Smith has experience in working closely with various community groups and planning committees to ensure public participation and input during the plan development process. Mrs. Smith coordinates all staff efforts throughout the planning process. 

Ms. King is a GIS Mapping Specialist and a FEMA Certified HAZUS Practitioner. Ms. King has conducted Level II HAZUS analysis for numerous Hazard Mitigation Plan documents. Ms. King assists with the planning process, provides GIS mapping products, and assists in public outreach efforts for all planning projects.

Eric Messick, Planner

Matthew Smith, CFM
(He/Him)

Mr. Messick  has a background in urban and regional planning, geographic information systems (GIS), social science, and hazard mitigation planning. Mr. Messick focuses on social vulnerability in coastal communities, and assists with hazard mitigation planning and GIS analysis.

Mr. Smith provides plan, document, and mapping QA/QC, as well as providing additional GIS support and mapping product generation. Additionally, Mr. Smith provides input for water resource and environmental factors within plan documents.

Corbin McGann

Mr. McGann has recently been hired by SP&D to assist in the development and delivery of media content. In addition, Mr. McGann is an excellent researcher and has proven valuable to the team, increasing our efficiency.
